Motor has not been run in 2 years. I checked compression around 75 in both cylinders. Which I know is on the low side. I have excellent spark. I tried new plugs. I squirted some fuel directlly into the carb and cyl. I tried starting fluid. The motor will no even make a pop. Other than the keyway in the flywheel is there any other thing that will affect the timing. Does the sensor under the fllywheel have anything to do with the timing. What does it do? I realize I will have to pull the carbs for cleaning. But don't want to stick alot of time in to it until I know that it may run and be worth fixing.

Wolfman, Welcome to iboats!

For openers, loose the starting fluid, bad for the motor, no lubrication. Use premixed fuel (50:1) in a spray bottle instead. Now that we have that out of the way, your problem could be a timing problem. Pull the flywheel and inspect the keyway. If the key is sheared or partially sheared, the timing will be off. Since you say you have good spark, the under flywheel coil and trigger coil are good. Do a link and sync adjustment. Spraying a bit of premix into the carb throat should get her to pop. BTW, make sure your plug wires aren't swapped....
