OK. so i tried disconnecting the kill circuit and still get nothing. I put a volt meter to one of the spark plug wires and got 4 volts at its peak. ive checked all grounds and they all seem ok. all cdi/coil grounds are fine. now what? how could something die just sitting over the winter? very frustrating! thanks for helping!!! id be lost without this site

Need make and model number. Did you test the circuit breaker? When you disabled the lanyard you plugged it in? Check all the connectione at the switch. If the key switch is broken you could have a no spark issue from that. A DVM will not show spark. The pulse is too fast to see on a DVM. A DVA or a osilliscope maybe but a DVM will not read it.
