window opening size revisited

While my computer center is disassembled for house painting, I am using Mrs Boomyal's Dell Laptop with XP.

Every time I open a new window, it is only a quarter of the display size. It is aggravating me to death. I know this has been talked about before, but I have tried all the tricks I remember to get them to open full screen. All to no avail.

Any new ideas. I've stretched them open, hit the maximize button, closed them and then reopened. No change.

Open your first window, then right click a link and "open in new window".

When the new window opens, drag it where you want it and the size you want it (do NOT use the Maximize button).

Then, go to the bottom bar, and left-click the original (#1) window. And click the "X" to close it.

All you have open now is the 2nd window, the one you dragged out to fullsize. Left click on "File". Then hold down "CONTROL", then left click "Close".

You have a blank desktop.

Open window #3, then right-click a link and "open in a new window" and voila!, it should be full size.

Wow KRS, like you said; Voila! I will print this and hang it on the monitor. So far it worked like a champ. I think Mrs Boomyal will be pleased. I'll let her discover the change.
