hey guys the floor in my boat was feeling a little soggy in spots so I have decided to rip it up and inspect further to see if there is much damage, well upon further inspection ripping up most of the floor and pulling out semi saturated foam it appears that the whole stringer system and everything under the floor is ALL fibreglass...I have some pics below for you guys to see If i scrape all the foam residue off the fibreglass actually comes out very clean looking and it feels very solid , does this make sense, the boat is a 1975 14ft sporstman made by the wright bros in seattle....does this make for an easier or harder repair?

If there's no wood, then there's nothing to fix and nothing to fix is easier than something to fix. Your lucky, just replace the floor and your back in the water.

PS. Check the transom.

wow well thats some great news, I guess the foam needs to be replaced at the least and the floor, how crucial is the foam on a boat like this, it is only used in small local lakes that even in the windiest conditions won't have chop over a foot,it is used for fishing and tubing is floatation foam neccessary?
the transom is in fair condition i can stand on the end of the skeg and lift up the whole front of the boat and there isn't any porblem...anyways Iam going to put a new floor in and 2 swivel seats instead of the 4 sleepers, should I just fiberglass into the edges of the existing fiberglass left from the old floor, or do I sand down the old fibre glass to wood and do it that way?
