I have 1989 Thompson Daytona with GM 350. Put new ignition in and won't start. no clicks and no noise but if I jump starter solonoid or assist solonoid with key in on position, it starts and runs no problem. Any ideas?

Re: Ignition Problem

I think you are confused about the fuction of the neutral safety switch. The neutral safety switch prevents the starter from operating. It does not disable the ignition. You need to do the reccomedation from the other post and bypass the neutral safety switch and try to start it.

other than that ,the ign switch may be bad or the wire that goes to the slave solenoid from the ign switch is damaged

Re: Ignition Problem

Hopefully, you have the neutral safety switch still in there and are using it.
