Howdy every1. Boating season has been underway for a month and a 1/2 for me. Any how, Ive got the boat running like a champ (after head work and reg maint.) The issue I have is an intermittant prob. w/ return to idle. Intermittantly, 1 or the other carb plate will not always return to the idle position. I was tired of lifting the dog house to pull on the carb armatures to close them, and adjusted the throttle linkage so that when returning to idle in gear or not, the armature would be pulled to the closed position. Works great, but creates another problem. Shifting into reverse is quite stiff now. The carbs were rebuilt last season, but still had the prob. then, but was less often a problem.(didnt happen as much). Can the return springs on the carbs be getting weak and need extra force to return to idle. Should I rig extra springs to help (I really want to do the right thing w/o rigging)? Or are there kits to replace the springs on the Solex carbs?
