Well, we have had this boat since about a year minus 3 weeks. Just now getting to the interior. And when I say getting to the interior, it means that there is only about 6 months until we get to work on it. (I am all set to get rid of this POS, just we cannot get more than 1/4 what we have in it. Our family doesn't have the time or money to get this going. Besides, the 12 footer catches fish too) But, I am bored, so I figure I can go ahead and get a better design for it. What we have is this, plus the 50 horse Johnson on the back.

Now, we are stuck with the original console and windshield placement as that is what is already cut out, and one is mostly fabricated. Out of $85 a sheet marine ply nonetheless. And, the splashwell is there, and extends about 18 inches forward from the transom. Now, here is the problem. The boats capacity is 6 people. There are six people in our family, and 3 - 4 times a year, we will need to carry all of us (that is, if we get out of the delimma we are stuck in. Right now, it needs not carry anyone)
But, as an avid bass angler, who wants to tourney fish within 2 years, I want the animities of a bass boat. As in raised casting deck. But, if we raise a deck up to the level of the gunwale in the bow, it is too high to put the cushions in to make it a bowrider. There is not enough room for 3 rows of seats in the back. I would also like some sort of casting deck in the back. Basically we need to turn this fifteen footer into a bass boat that seats six. (only has to seat 2, maybe 3 when fishing) What should we do, or should we just have the height of the bow deck to be the same as the original lounger, so there is enough gunwale to safely carry people?

Re: I need help with interior arrangement.

i've done this, on the bow, keep the present height, it's not bad to fish from, i used 3/4 exterior ply, as a set in deck, you can bolt down in a couple of places easy to get to. so it can be removed when the boat is need as a family boat, mount a butt seat. console use 2 pedistal mounted seats, for the stearn you can do the same as the bow, it won't be a huge platform, but make if removable, an a rear bench seat that can go in for the family boat.

Re: I need help with interior arrangement.

The stupid link doesn't work, I can't get a new one to work, and my picture hosting site won't allow me to log in. I am gonna get a new one soon. This one has given me quite a few problems. I will try to post pics later, or even get the link to work. Bear with me here.

I guess I will keep the original height for the bow lounger, and learn to flip over the gunwale. Just have removable cushions. But, an idea just dawned on me on how to work the aft deck, make it permanent, versatile, and still have access to the fuel tanks and battery under the splash well, as we cannot afford a permanent tank with external fittings. It is so simple, and the inspiration has been with me for months, I am not sure how I missed it. I am perplexed as to how I missed it. I am one of those dorks who asks a question and is able to solve the problem as soon as I ask it. It never fails. I will try to post a drawing on top of a pic later if I can fix the pic hosting site.
Thanks yall,

Re: I need help with interior arrangement.

T-daddy has so graciously offered to post the pics for me as my pic hosting sites are bugged right now. And the shareaproject link is funky. Hopefully the attachments in my email worked. Hopefully any of yall watching this cna pic up an idea or two, and better yet, give me a couple of pointers on how to make this better than it already is.
Thanks.

to cut down on the splash over into the motor well, you could mount a piece of 1/4 plexiglass, to the transom, even with the top of the gunnel on each side of the motor. giving just enough room for the motor to turn and function properly. they do it for back trolling. also, doing this you could extend the rear temp deck all the way with a cut out for the motor.

Re: I need help with interior arrangement.

I think you can do what you want to do with TD's help. I put a forward platform into a 15ft trihull using 3/4inch plywood. It worked very well with a pedestal chair and was easily removable if necessary. One thing you may want to consider about your boat is the pendulum effects of two pedestal chairs in a boat of modest beam like yours. That's why modern bass boats are wide: better stability! Try it and see. If you don't like it, you can always remove it. Good luck with your project and keep us posted.
