Not a question, just reporting an oddity I figured someone else could maybe use.
So, yet another kicker landed in my lap. They seem to be falling off trees lately. Anyway, this one needed coils and a carb kit - so that all done I go to test it out on the boat.
It wasn't pulling fuel off my built-in tank. Had to pump the bulb. It WAS pulling fuel just fine from the spare tank. Now, I know the line is good because it runs my other kicker, and just to be sure I hooked it up to the V4 - no problems.
Okay, weird right? The line from the built-in has a separator in it, so I figure maybe the pump is just getting worn out. New pump kit.
I take it apart and find the air-dome spring and little plastic doo-dad laying on its side under the diaphragm. New rebuild and all is now as it should be.
Goofy little fuel pump part that air dome thing is, I'm tellin ya.
