Cobra alignment, gimbal lube

Hey guys!

I was wondering if someone would tell me the procedure for taking the cobra drive off and checking the alignment and what to lube. Any special tools needed? Im a litle nervous taking anything on the drive apart without getting some qualified instruction on what to do/don't do.

You didn't say which year/model.


Regardless of year/model.......obtain an OMC factory service manual and an Alignment bar. Both available from many retailers and EBAY etc.

You'll also probably need a Transom Service Kit and a Raw Water Pump Kit If they have not been replaced in the last few years or so.


Then carefully follow the instructions in the manual. This is something you want to do correctly!
