Need HELP Converting from Two Line Pressure Tank System to Single Line Fuel Pump Suction Tank System. What do I need to do this. THANKS

If you are lucky, the bypass covers may already have the 3 holes to mount the pump, but will have to be drilled and tapped. Otherwise, you need to find a bypass cover. The rest is a piece of cake. They have the pump right here at iboats. Shown on a 40hp, 35 is similar.

I'm working on a '57 35hp right now. You'll need a bypass cover from a later model (a 40hp prob), the fuel pump that attaches to it, hoses, gaskets, a single hose connector to attach the hose to and finally a single line tank. I think that's it.

this may help, drill out the center of the 3 holes in a line, tap the outer two on the same line, tap size 10/24 i could have used the bypass cover on my 58 35. just did it 3 weeks ago. picked up hose connector on ebay. be sure to order the gasket that goes between the pump and bypass cover. clik pics to enlarge.

The pump is a standard pump. The plate can be found off later models or just drill your own.

btw Tashasdaddy, I dont see the fuel pump in the photo anymore. did you relocate it or replace with an inline?

samo, you mean the filter? the pump has a built in filter.screen. you remove the big middle screw, and the round disc comes off, the screen is under there. i have they bypass cover, in the picture, old filter, and engine connector, if any body needs one.

you will also have to get about 15inches of larger fuel hose to go from connector to fuel pump. i use hose clamps, as i don't trust the ties.

Use 438562 (18-7351) That gets you the right size fitting for the hose going to the carburetor. Don't pay any attention to that 9hp stuff.

You plug the hose that comes out of the intake manifold, going to the air side of the present hose connector, which of course you will be replacing with a single line connector. Fits the same hole in bracket. You will have to enlarge the hole for where the larger hose goes through the lower pan.

my hose just did fit thur, the existing hole. i just put a 1/4 " bolt in the air hose, with a hose clamp.
