Raker versus Tempest Plus

In theroy which prop would or should create more bow lift, a 22 pitch Raker or a 21 or 23 pitch Tempest Plus? Which prop should have more stern or over all lift?

It really depends on which Raker you get. There were 3. The first ones with small vent holes, like 1/4" or 3/8". Those had the most bow lift and the 24 had the most bow lift of all that series.

The second version was still called a Raker but had larger vent hols, 1/2" or 5/8". The 3rd version was called the Raker II.

The old original Raker would probably come closest to being like a Tempest Plus. A Turbo Lightning will have more bow lift that any of the stock Tempest props. A Turbo TXP will have overall lift. Each prop is made for a specific type hull.

Dale, thanks for the response. The 22 Raker I have would be the second series. This being the case the Tempest plus would have more bow lift than the second series Raker but not as much lift as the Turbo Lightning. It appears I will be looking for a Turbo Lightning. I am going to try a 23 Tempest plus first as I have access to one for testing.
