I'm sure it would. But the alarms that they come with are usually plenty loud IF they are mounted other than where most are. Most are buried someplace. If they are in the open, they are plain to hear.

I agree but I have a problem hearing higher frequencies.

Hang in there. I need to leave for the morning but later in the day I'll post a diagram that I drew up some time ago with the intention of doing the same for my boat but have yet to get to it.
