What to put on floor?

Hello,

I am debating what to put onto my floor. I decided against vinyl and carpet for the obvious reasons. What I was thinking about was either gelcoat or Interdek, which is a textured coating by Interlux. I want the coating to be non-slip and will be either rolling or brushing it. Thanx for your ideas.

Have a great day,

Rob.

Re: What to put on floor?

I would base the decision on "what will the boat be used for"......... are we talking about fishing, just cruising or water sports. It would also depend on the type of boat.

The bedliner material is great but $$$$ Carpet is not bad as long as it's the good marine grade. I have also seen a few real nice vinyl floors installed here on iboats.

I would sum it up as flooring is Consumer Choice.

Re: What to put on floor?

Thanx for your input. It is an 18 foot bowrider. Will be used mostly for watersports, and probably fishing also. Want to use some type of brush on, non-slip coating because I feel it will be the most water resistant, and easiest to clean up. Just wondering which one to use?

Re: What to put on floor?

Went to the store today, and I can buy the Interdek coating, enough to do the floor for $100. Comes with non skid and is easy to apply with a roller. I think that is what I am going to use. Seems like a good product.

TD thanx for the link on Grizzly grip. It seems quite expensive and by the time I pay shipping, duty and taxes, it will be more than double what the Interdek costs. Bringing that type of stuff across the border I think would be a real pain, it is much easier to buy locally.

Was also thinking of using gelcoat, but I think the Interdek is better. Any comments are always welcome.

Have a great day,

Rob.
