850 lower unit will not come off. All nuts and bolt "have" been removed. Done the forward/reverse thing, wedges, 5lb hammer and block of wood. Two of the nuts closest to shaft can also be used to help push down lower unit by putting 1/8th inch metal plate above them and winding them off against leg, this alone puts a great amount of force on things. Hung it upside down, poured penetrent down shaft for a week and repeated the process all over again, still won't budge.
As a last resort can I cut through leg, from the front, about half way up. Just enough to go through shaft. Remove lower unit and leg. Maybe then crank can be supported, something welded to remainder of shaft so a slide hammer can be used on it. Weld up cut in leg and replace shaft.
Only other thing I could do is to put it on boat and take it for a run, maybe that would loosen it.
Or should I use it for an anchor.
