My 1990 18' Glastron runabout has always had a problem of spittin gas back out the fill hole while pumping gas unless I pump really slowly & pause often to allow the gas to vent. I had always assumed that this was because the vent was below the gas line while gassing up. I'm in the process of reflooring the boat & have the gas take completely exposed (pics later). I was wondering if any of you guys had any suggestion as to how to fix this problem (especially now that can remove the tank)
Thanks
added info: it's a 17gal plastic tank mounted under the floor in the middle of the boat. the fill tube & fuel pickup lines enter the tank stern side & the vent enters tank bow side. the tank has somewhat of a U shape with the fill tube & vent being a couple inchs higher than the main resevior. I should post pics at some point today.
