Three years have past since i first got my hands on my Winner Viscount 22, i have trawled the net trying to catch another winner owner to no avail, then i find this site with loads of you. My boat is called Here Fishee Fishee, but its been of no help at all, the fish stay far away. I would not swap her in for anything, although it hasn't stopped me from looking. Its very hard to find another 22 ft boat that can offer the same as the winner.
See Pics below if it works, look forward to your comments.

Great looking boat. How about some details? Year, etc.

I like the rails in the back. All around good looking boat. Where do you try to catch fish? I just started boating and fishing, and only one fish last summer by a 10 year old!

I have one of the 18 center console in the large post on Winner Quest. Great boat!!

We winner owners love details. as you know, there are few winner websites to check out.

Really nice boat!!! Welcome aboard iboats!!!

As to the fish not coming near... Your boat is cursed, you should just give it to me as it is of no use to you!!!;)

The Winners really seem to be great boats; thank you for sharing the photos.

Re: Winner Viscount 22

As far as i know its a 1970's to 80's, I picked her up from a chap in Burnham on Crouch, England. I sailed her back to my own mooring in Mersea.

After six months of hard work she was put back in the water, we haven't looked back since. Red Hot V8 Volvo Penta 260 with a 280 leg Follow the link to my fishing ground. Happy Boating to you all.

Hi from the UK

This Winner was sold by a company in Wales, UK. I guess they imported them into the UK from the US.
I have yet to find anyone who has any knowledge of the make or model. So its good to find so many Winner owners in one place.
Any pointers you can give will be very much appreciated.

Re: Winner Viscount 22

Hello to all. It sure is nice to finally see a forum about Winner Boats. I thought I owned the only one in the world. I saw an ad in the paper for a 22' cuddy. Went and looked at it and it seemed fine for the price. $2000.00 U.S. Anyway, it was this guy's project boat and he had a new baby and couldn't afford to finish it. There was no battery in the boat and no way to hook up water to it, so I took the guy at his word that it ran good. (To most of us in Texas, your word and a handshake is as good as any contract.) Well, this guy was the Assistant District Attorney of Dallas, so I figured I couldn't go wrong. I should have known not to trust a lawyer. The engine didn't run and that was just the start of a long list of things he neglected to mention. Unable to find any info on a Viscount 22 anywhere and not getting any return calls from the lawyer , I parked it at my brother's house, planning to work on it another day. Here it is eight years later and I just retrieved my boat. I had recently moved down to the coast and thought it would be a fine coastal fisher. Sorry to say, but it is in sad shape. I've already spent $1000 on tires and bearing buddies, just to get it down here. The floor needs replacing. It has no door on the cabin. None of the rod holders are fastened down. No seats. Cracked windshield. The pump and piston for the hydraulics on the motor have mysteriously dissappeared. Bilge pump doesn't work and that's just some of the more pressing projects. I don't have a clue about the motor. I definately have my work cut out for me. Now, don't get me wrong. I love this boat. I love her lines and she is very stout.:p Perfect for what I wanted. Otherwise, I wouldn't undertake a project of this scope. So, don't be surprised if you hear from me a lot in the future. I'll be picking your brains for any tidbit of information I can get to help me along. As soon as I get my camera back, I'll post some pictures.

Re: Winner Viscount 22

Must be catching, nice to see others with an interest in winners. I also have a viscount in the UK this time in Scotland. I know somthing of the UK history of the marque in Britain. My own boat has a 270 volvo outdrive and a 6 cylinder volvo penta shoving it, this may be getting changed soon, after the 2007 season but as I am busy in what spare time I have refitting her hull and interior first, its still on the "to do" list. My boat was sold initally from a dealer in the lake district and the importer was as previously mentioned in Cardiff. I have had our boat out in a force 6/7, quite heavy weather in the north channel (Ireland/Scotland), and she handles it with ease I get just under 38 knots from her in good trim with 4 pax in the boat. I know that the hull with a different deck moulding has been used for some para-sail boats successfully with a v8 engine, usually a mercruiser. Cant fault the hull mine is bulletproof, although the deck has been replaced at least two times before I got her and I am in the process of doing it again and increasing the fuel tank capacity to improve the range. I will post pics as time allows if anyone wants to view the progress (slow) as work on customers boats takes priority.
Regards
Hugh

Re: Winner Viscount 22

So i'm not the only winner in the village, nice to here from you. Hope to get a look at some pictures as soon as you have time to post some. My winner hales form a dealer in wales. there is a large dealer plate on the stern, Picked her up from a gent in Burnham on crouch, essex. She could do with a refit in the cabin, but i'm happy with her the way she is. Good luck with your project for the winter of 2007/08 hope it all goes well.

Re: Winner Viscount 22

Well, I thought there were no other winners out there either, it seems winners have been banished to this corner of the internet. I have a circa 1979 winner 21 which was running a mercruiser 228. I started to strip the ailing engine down and every layer was rotten so I bought a ?350 305ci small block chevy from e-bay and swapped it out using the existing ancillaries. It's still struggling to do over 20 knots but I do still have some fettling to do with the ignition system and I think I have over pitched the prop at 24". The next to go will be the tired interior, I'll throw up a full history and images later.
