Wow, they are in town this weekend. Going to be on FOX today at 1pm. There is only 2 races being televisied and this is one of them.

Should be a great race. This is the 3rd time they have been here. Most of the drivers like the short track that is here. Lots of bumping and pushing goes on.

I was sitting on my back patio last night and could hear them. The track is about 5 miles from my house. Should be nice and loud Sunday.

Next year they should have the new drag strip ready. There was IHRA scheduled events for this year, but the EPA held up the construction efforts and cancelled everything.

Mansfield is getting to be a good center for the racing crowd. Mid Ohio Sports Car Course, Mansfield Motorsports with their short track and soon the drag strip.

Yessir -- if you can just manage to distract the EPA goon squad. :)

Wish I could be there for the trucks. The local boys (SARA) has a truck division that is fun to watch, so I can just immagine the NASCAR events are wild-n-crazy fun.

Re: NASCAR Trucks

Good ole Ohio weather, 16 laps and rained out. I knew there was a reason for staying home to watch it on TV. They surpose to race tomorrow,,,,,,,weather pemitting.

At least there was a couple of bumps and spin outs in those few laps. I wish I could remember the driver that said it was like a high speed demolition derby race.

One of the main circuits I miss watching is the old CamAm cars. That was some wicked stuff.

Weather was weird yesterday for sure. Up until they got started it was nice and sunny. Then after it started it rained, it let up only to pour some more.

The grass parking areas was a mess with people getting stuck. This has happened about every time NASCAR has been here. The track owners want to swap with a southern event in July. Spring time in this area is always unpredictable with the weather.

I also miss CanAm. I went to Georgia to see them race at Road Atlanta. Wicked cars.

From remembering those cars, it sure makes the NASCARs look like slow moving vehicles. Wasn't CanAm cars pretty much an unlimited class?
Roundy round tracks are okay, but there is nothing like a good road course.:D
