ive got a 7.5 gamefisher that wont stay in gear. it starts and runs alrite, and the shifter moved freely, it clicks from neutral to forward but then you have to push it down pretty hard to get it to go into gear, it clicks like its slipping or not engaging properly, and it likes to pop back out of gear all the time. it doesnt change whether the motor is hot or cold. any help?

The techs on the board are probably gonna need a model# and/or serial number hambandit...you might as well go get it and post it.

Sears had a lot of different versions of their Gamefishers...

model is 217-585940

is it possible to convert this to direct drive in lieu of buying parts?
