My Winner has two fuel tanks and when fueling it, the gas gets backed up and bubbles up in the line which causes the gas pump to cut off. Any suggestions as to why?

Make sure you're vented properly and that the vent hose is not kinked or obstructed. Check the thru-hull, a wasp or spider nest will plug em'.

What kind of Winner do you have? I have an '86 Center Console, it has a fuel fill on each gunwale, but one is closed off as there is only a 55 gallon belly-tank.

Re: Fueling My 87' Winner

if you boat sits on the trailer bow high, and as mine there is gets to be a huge air bubble in the tank, as the fill hose is usually to the rear of the tank. when fueling in the water i get passenger to go to the bow. when i've wanted a total full tank. i've also drop the tongue of my trailer all the way down, to get a full tank. but when doing this, as the vent can overflow, when the bow comes back up. and polute the water, and run down the side of the boat.
