It's hard to believe that someone gets an idea like that in their head to begin with; then follow through with it?

I would say a couple of hours at the bottom of the bay while tied to an anchor would do the trick!

Yeah, I just can't get the image of that poor couple out of my mind. They were on top of the world, and then they were watching their fate unfold . . . :(  All of these stories show me how an individual can rationalize any behavior. He got 3 people to go along with him. This is why I harp on evil behavior so much. People actually do these things to other people . . . There is a recent movie about a similar monster named Jesse James Hollywood. The movie is called Alpha Dog, with Bruce Willis, Sharon Stone and Justin Timberlake. It's almost a documentary and a 100% true story about a murder also here in California. The victim was a 15 YO kid and there was about 10 of them that knew about it and kept their mouths shut . . . Ultimately I think belief in something or someone superior to us is the ONLY answer and I don't really see that as a religious statement. More of a logical one. If we our ownselves are supposed to determine what is right and wrong, well, uh, we can't be trusted . . .

Kinda makes one wonder if socialpathiec behavior is genetic doesn?t it?

This statement by the father is really bizarre, the way I interpreted it, it was stated after the fact???

And these are the type of people that get found not guilty due to a mental health issue, sent to a treatment / rehab centre and released to do it all again sometime in the future. Then everyone is amazed as the person was deemed "cured"
I personally would not consider anyone that did a premeditated thing like that "treatable". Best thing would be to remove them completely from society. (One way or the other)

Well I favor one way, and it is the only way that the families get any real justice . . .

Not sure how I ended up reading this thread, but i was shocked to read the article above. After reading it and seeing it's been a few years, I did a bit of googling. Looks like he got what he deserved. Actually killed a guy a year before he murdered these 2 unfortunate people.

sorry for ressurecting this but i thought you all might like to know justice has been served in this case
