so here is the problem drive is pumping zero water so I bought a new impeller and manual so I can do it right. I get it apart and impeller is fine looks just like the brand new. the drive was working fine and then quit pumping suddenly for no apparent reason.

questions
1. the impeller housing had score marks on the inside, from what looks like normal wear marks, would this cause zero water to pump?

2. all the swivel housing seals appeared to be in great shape except the one that seals on the outside of the housing as it looked like exhaust has and was passing through. I have a cut off 55 gallon drum that I was running the drive in and the water level did not cover up far enough to submerge this seal so I figured this has to be the problem. now this seal would be submerged if the boat were launched correct? so do you guys think that this is my problem, I have scanned over the entire assembly below the water pump and this is the only thing I have come up with.

3. what is the correct exhaust hose that connects to the elbow and the gasket for the elbow as the hose has a cut in it? I looked to no evail. hose part number is OMC 09808438, part number for elbow gasket is OMC 0908013

4. what is the correct seal for the swivel housing that I need it is the one that the upper case mainly sits on? the one that is contoured to mate the upper and lower cases. I also looked for this to no evail. I think the part number should be OMC 0310649

5. water was seeping from the pivot caps is this normal because I didn't think any water was supposed to come out here. this was before the drive suddenly quit pumping any water.

6. where do the electric shift wires connect to after they come through the transom? they were wire nutted together and common sense says the need to go to something else, but when the boat was running fine in the 55 gallon drum I shifted into forward and reverse and the drive appeared to work fine.

any and all help is greatly appreciated I need to get this fixed asap
thanks, tucker

Not the problem.

You probably didn't have the drive submerged deep enough.

Drips at the trunnion caps not a huge issue, but the orings on the "ears" of your upper probably need replacing.

EDIT: AHHH JEEEZ... did MANIPULATOR just read that....wondering where the other 2 seals from the w/p kit go.... hahahaha.. just hit me....

Lost me there.... the 2 drive wires are hooked to each other and it's still shifting? You got ghosts!!! Need to look at that again... not possible

9808438, too many numbers. The other numbers check out. If you can not find them here on Iboats, go here. It is the place I use for small parts.

no need to use OMC or the Zero in the beginning of the number.

My 75 Electric Stringer Shift cable goes all the way down into the Lower Gearcase after coming out the Intermediate. You have an interesting setup for sure.
