I am new to the thread but not to boating. I have a 2004 Ebbtide 190 campione with the 4.3 v6 (carburated). This last sunday was my first time out on the lake this summer. When I first started out I had absolutly no power. Then, as I was driving I realized "spark plug wires" I stopped the boat look to see if a wire had come off. Sure enough, one had fallen off. I secured it back on the plug, and checked the rest. Started the boat back up, reached 42mph WOT with trim up. Last year I would get about 52-53mph WOT. I plan on changing all the plugs, rotor cap and bug along with a little seafoam in the carb. What else can I do to get it back up to speed? What could be wrong with it? I dont know what the RPM's were either, I forgot to write it down. Any suggestions?

Let me rewind here a second. Two years ago, when the lake was low I hit some rocks going around 5mph. Chewed up the prop, and took a little piece out of the skeg. Filed down the skeg and replaced the prop, the rubber insert looked fine.

How are you measuring your speed and did you get there after the prop/skeg fix?

Re: loss of speed

The prop/skeg incident happened 2 years ago. When it happened I immediatly drove it slowly back to the ramp and loaded it.

The decrease of power happened just this last sunday(june 3rd)

Re: loss of speed

Funny you say that, last year instead of adding stabil,I completly drained the fuel tank, because of the gas/ethanol blend. Eventhough I drained it water still could have accumulated in the gas tank? I couldnt hear any type of stutter after I attached the spark plug wire.
