Hi,
I'm not really sure how well these two strokes are suppose to idle but my new rebuild a 2cyl 60hp is a littile at idle. the plugs look clean however I do have the 25:1 fuel mixture for break in. It runs great above idle though.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: poor idle on new motor

If you had it before the rebuild and are comparing apples to apples, if it were really worn out, your compression was much lower and when the explosion occurred, there was less bang then.

Also, this is a 2 cyl engine. Expect some vibration (at low rpm's) cause you only get one bang for 180 degrees of crankshaft rotation.

When it loosens up it will smooth out some.

If your plugs are clean on 25:1 you are in great shape and if it runs great at WOT it couldn't be in all that bad a shape.

I'm assuming a carb rebuild was part of the OH and that you don't have low speed jet clogging issues.
