Thanks to some folks here on the board, I was able to buy a set of controls for my Chrysler 55HP motor. I won them on eBay for about $48.00 and I am happy with that. The problem is; The controls seem complete and I understand the single shift lever (Clearly marked with a neutrel position)...But how the heck does the button work for the accelerator?????
The red arrow shows where I swapped the two armatures on the back because it was clear that the controls did not work at all in the position they were in. It was obvious to me (by the tool marks and inability of the shifter to smoothly shift) that someone had taken them off and put them back on the wrong way...
I am completely mystified about the Accelerator button and how it works. I am very mechanical but something seems amiss here...I attached a couple of pics (front/back) of the controls...Hopefully someone can explain the engineering on these things so I can grasp it...Or let me know if something is missing...For now I am stumped..
D Man...
