1962 Johnson 40 hp Parts.

I would really like to know where I can find parts for this motor, most places don't list parts for motors earlier then 1968.

Mainly I want some new gears.

you can try calling tcoutboard.com or buying a lower unit on ebay. new gears are long gone.

You should buy yourself a parts book. Once you have the part numbers you will be surprised at how much stuff is available. Dealers just don't want to monkey with looking stuff up. You will find that most stuff on your '62 is the same as a '68-'70. But you just don't know without comparing the number.
