'89 5.7 OMC Cobra timing

Gentlemen,


Just making sure I did it tight, the book calls for 3 deg. BTDC for 86-88 octane gas. Now that gas is 10% ethanol and how knows what else has changed there since that manual came out, I am wondering if 3 deg BTDC is still a right value?

I think octane only matters, outside of the tank wanting to absorb more moisture than normal gas.
