I've searched this site for info on how to change the impeller...people say there is a triangular box with 3 bolts to reach the impeller...I can't find this anywhere! I see a place near the top of the drive with 4 bolts and a screw plug in the middle....

Thanks

Below the screw plug in the middle-- is a fiberglass cover, 2 bolts at top. one at bottom. Remove that, and you see the pump housing.

Re: Changing Impeller Cobra

Thanks a lot....I feel like an idiot....it's just I was looking for something smaller :) So after you take that off you unbolt the housing and then remove it to remove the impeller?

I was also wondering, can I remove the impeller to run the engine without water for a short period? I have wonder coming out of my #1 piston and I think it's leaking from the manifold....want to get all the water out and not introduce anymore....

It keeps spitting rust colored water every stroke with the plug removed....

Thanks

You can'r run it long that way because you will burn up all the rubber parts in your exhaust system.
