As some of you know I bought a 85 wellcraft with the v-8 which I just got running was out on the lake saturday and sunday. I had a freind of mine on the back skiing I only had to give it about half throttle to get him out of the water ( 180 pounds). I can run 47 miles an hour at 5100 rpm I would like to drop my rpm while cruising about 30 and maybe pick up some top speed. Since I got him out of the water with only about half throttle I figured I would not have a problem loosing a little get up and go. The prop that is on it right know is a 14.5 19p What should I look for also do I want to stay with 14.5. Thanks in advance.

Re: Prop question

I'd go up to a 21p......
That should knock off 400 rpms.......;)

Re: Prop question

Prop questions should really be posted in the prop forum.

Re: Prop question

I did post in the prop section and no response I got a 21 pitch and have lost top speed and lost a lot of power out of the hole. I have lost about 8 or 9 miles an hour on my top speed.
