Mariner 8hp

Right

I Have a a Mariner 8hp, its my dads backup engine for his boat, but seeing as i have a little rib, i used the 8hp 2 stroke.

Until the bracket that keeps hold of the engine, and connects to the transom, well there are 4 places that attach the engine to the bracket,1 has corroded almost all its way off, and one has snapped, i've looked everywhere to try and find the part, but i cant, and seeing as i dont know what its called, it doesnt really help!

i also got a old yamaha 25hp 2 stroke, its pretty old, but an it has a crack in the water jacket, my dad tried to liquid weld it to seal it, but it needs fixing properly? whats the cheapest way to repair it? if there is?

nick, go to mercurypartsexpress.com. follow promts to you engine. there is a complete diagrams.. should under midsection. the yammy, google yamaha outboard parts. there is a yammy site, that has complete diagrams. you might try taking a dremel tool and cleaning out the crack, and using JB Weld.

Right I went on the mercury site, and it asked for my serial number?
i found the plate, but i cant work out whats the serial, coz all it has is alot of digits, and nothing saying "serial number"

what i got off the mounting bracket was

8ML 6G1 L 311413

i dont know whats the serial?

Sephy, this is the second of what i believe is a Japanese Mariner, i hit today. parts are listed as non available. hopefully some with more knowledge about these will see this.
