Good day...New to the forum and trying everything possible to get the correct answer.

I read a similar problem from a 2001 posting, but have tried everything and would truly appreciate some more assistance.

The motor clicks and that is it...it will not start, nor even engaged the starter. I have replaced the starter and the starter relay...thinking this would be the issues, but it had returned the same results. Battery is new and all connections are tight.

I did a voltage test and I got 12v coming into the starter relay, but nothing outside of the new starter relay. The only other place I have 12v is on the rear circuit breaker. After that...I have no clue what to do or what to look at next.

In the mean time...I will go pull every wire...clean them each and try again, just incase this may be the issue. However, if anyone has any solutions or advise...I would truly appreciate it, as I am missing out on some serious fishing. Thank you.

You say you have 12 volts to one side of relay and the relay clicks. But no voltage goes through the relay means new relay contacts not making.

I agree, sounds like the clicking noise you hear may be the relay, but without 12 volt output it's likely bad. You may want to post on the Force board, it may be a common problem that we "Merc" guys arent aware of.

Ok...checked all the wiring today...and still the same thing.

I looked for some fuses, but nothing exists that I can find...not even in the book.

I have done the following: (1) replaced batteries, (2) replaced the starter, (3) replaced the starter relay, and (4) checked all wiring connections completely to my knowledge.

I was thinking the only few things I have left are the circuit breakers, syleniond, or the giant 20/30 fuses I found inside the the motor casing.

Does anyone have any clue...what to try here?

OK now there should be a fat wire from the battery with 12 volt at all times connected to the solenoid. There is also a control wire with 12 volts only when you turn the key. To check for a faulty solenoid, short out the 2 big terminals bypassing the solenoid. Starter should engage. If it dosen't then you have a wiring issue, perhaps a lack of ground. If it does but won't engage when you hear the solenoid clicking as you turn the key means the solenoid is faulty.

Red...thanks for the info. I was looking at the solenoid next as the starter does not engage after the click. Understand the fat wires...I do have the 12v to the starter relay, but when performing the next step...with the ignition engaged...the only thing I get is a clicking noise, which is selonoid. No jucie, no spark, nothing but the click...which provides zero voltage passed the starter relay.

Today, I will look up the selenoid, fuseses and circuit breakers on-line and order the parts. I will try all of these issues and get back to everyone.

I truly appreciate everyone's advise and would love to solve this issue...ughhhh! Thank you all again.
