I Have An 94' Johnson 225 Ocean Runner, That Won't Run Over 2500 Rpm. Have Changed Water Pump (entire Kit), Thermos. Engine Was Visually Running Hot Before Replacing Wp Kit, But Does Not Appear To Be Now. Good Stream From Tattle Tale. Pretty Sure That This The Slow System, Causing Engine To Lose Rpm @ Exactly 2500. Unplugged Temp Switches, Runs Fine. Tested Blocking Diode With Ohm Meter, Ok. Tested Temp Switches, Port Side Switch Has Tan/green Wire And White/black Wire, Clymer Says To Check Ohms Between Switch Housing And Tan Green, Results Switch Closed. Checked Switch Further By Checking Ohms Between The Two Wires While Cool, Switch Open. Heated Switch In H2o Switch Closed.

Am I On The Right Track, Is My Switch Good Or Bad. Any Other Ideas, Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated. Thank You!!

2500 is indeed the approximate limiting rpm for the SLOW function. Apparently the power pack is activating that function whether or not the overheat switches signal it to activate. Could be a bad power pack.

Thank You, Silvertip For Your Reply. The Only Thing Is The Engine Runs Fine With The Temp Switches Unplugged,, Do You Think Still The Power Pack, Or Maybe Just The Temp Sensor. Feedback Would Be Greatly Appreciated.

Have you tested the other switch? It seems one or other is faulty.
