do they make a synthetic gear lube for an 86 alpha 1?

Going to be replacing the drive oil in my drive and installing a remote resivor for the drive oil.Would like to replace with synthetic oil.

Mercruiser high performance gear lube is synthetic.....​

Wal-Mart sells syntheitc, just read the label for "Synthetic lower gear lube"
I use it and it works great!

I use Pennzoil Marine SAE 80w-90 high viscosity lower unit gear lube, 91 Alpha one. works good for me. I would think they are all good

Any of the above is great including Amsoil system 2000 synthetic gear lube.

The best deal is probably the Mobil 1 syn gear oil since you can buy it at Wallys World.

You know, Mercury doesn't have their own refinery. They buy oil from "others" and put their name on it.
