hey everyone First timer and glad to be here!,
I just purchased a 1989 21' nitro w/ 175 xp evinrude, guy who sold it had it rebuilt about two years ago and his wife came down with cancer. I was told the he would start the boat every week and kept sta-bil in tank.
The engine looks just rebuilt, we put a hot battery on her and she fired right up. idle's like a champ, rev's up like a champ, great water pressure.
I drained the tank and refilled with new gas, changed fuel filter and pulled both fuel and oil mix hoses and purged with new to the motor. check the gas tank vent line. all ok!
Now when you put the puppy in the water will not get over 1800 to 2000 rpms.
Why? what should I do and how much do you think I should pay to have it repaired? guy at Triton dealer said 40 per hour please help!
