Hey iboat Users, (hope all are having a great summer)

I have a Merc 5.7 Liter with and Alpha I Gen II drive. I want to grease my gimbal bearing, simply by using the grease fittings on the port and starboard side pivots points of the gimble ring. Looking in my Merc Manual, it states to use "Quicksilver U-Joint And Gimbal Bearing Grease." part number
92-828052A2.
As I try to reference this part number it states that this Quicksilver product is no longer available.. and dose not give a relisted serial number. What should I use to Lubercate my Gimble Bearing and U-Joint??

Should I just use the Quicksilver Special Lubricant 101
Or
the Quicksliver 2-4-C Marine Lubericant With Teflon ????

I just wanna make sure I use the right stuff knowing that this is a prone problem for having difficulty!

thanks for any help!

Re: Lube: Q

First, the two grease fitings that you found do not go to the gimble bearing. There is a recessed one on the the transom shield, right side near the top. This one is for the gimble bearing. Do Not use any grease with teflon on the gimble bearing.

You have a GenII drive so the u-joints are permalube units and do not require additional grease, when they go bad, they get replaced.

I would think any extreme pressure marine grease should be fine...
