Mariner 50 , Yamaha 40 or is it memorex

I'm trying to figure out what my mariner 50hp really is. Its a 676b and the serial number is 400xxxx , clues anyone?

I have problems and need to know where to go and ask, the correct forum. Thanks

Yamaha made it. The numbers are generated by Yamaha and 676 Yamahas would be very similar. You can ask here or in the Yamaha section. But since Merc/Mariner and Yamaha are significantly comingled, you'll generally get the same people looking both places anyhow.
