Push the trim button down, outboard goes down, push it up nothing happens. The button to "trailer" the motor works however. Where do I start?

Either the Trim Limit Switch,....... Or the wires going to,+ from it are Bad.......

At just above center of the inside of the Transom Assembley,... There are 4 Black Wires coming thru,.... On the In-board ends are Bullet Connectors,.....
By-pass the Limit Switch set There......
That'll verify that it's faulty in the Out-board end of that Circuit......

Repair as required.................;)

Sorry about that, I gave you the link to the complete OEM drive manual. Keep it handy for future reference.
Here is the link I meant to post, it's for section 1C

Thanks for that, I found the hidden links!

Took the boat out today. Only drove it about 1 mile to the island and 1 mile back to the dock several hours later. She ran great for the shape she's in!

So now I need to trouble shoot the trim button, and figure out why my bilge pump which makes a noise but isn't pumping any water.....and then God only knows what will be next.

I was looking at the outboard parts thinking I should grease them and noticed a place where it looked as if somebody had put some patching compound around where two large pieces bolt together, as if they were trying to patch a bad seal from the outside. So I guess I'll be draining the outoboard oil, see if it's got any water in it and then decide what to do. Last time it was changed was 5 years ago but as I've stated before it's seen less than 20 trips to the lake in that time and probably less than 10 hours operating time....

Start a new thread with your problem Scott, even if it is the same type problem, don't just stick your question onto someone elses, just makes it almost impossible to figure out who is answering who.
