ECU giving me fits

i have a '97 225 EFI Offshore that gives me a temp warning as soon as i turn the key on. of course there is no temp issue and i was told the problem resided in the ECU.
my question is twofold:
1st- which of the ECU's sends the signal to the warning buzzer/alarm
2nd- my ECU's from top to bottom are 830044-8 and 830046-7. i can find the part # for the bottom ECU but cannot find an exact match or anywhere on the net to cross reference the top ECU.

thanks in advance - bluh20

Re: ECU giving me fits

Who told you it was the ECU? Were the temp switches/sensor tested? Has the horn possibly shorted? Was all this tested?
