Proper Fuel Lines

The original fuel line in my old tug is copper. I am assuming it is some sort of special marine soft copper that is 40% more expensive than regular soft copper you buy in the hardware store. The lines need to be relocated. What type of fuel line do I need to use? Is the copper line used in boats a special schedule? Is aluminum not malleable enough?

The distance from tank to fuel pump is about 8 feet. Is it acceptable to run rubber fuel hose that distance in a boat?

Yep, it is done all the time. Most restorations involve removing aluminum fill/vent tubes and replacing with the above.

Remember this is reinforced line. Don't get the cheap grey line, get the heavy duty stuff from Trident.

Ditch the metal and go with some Type A1 or A2 marine grade fuel hose.

You guys are clear that I am talking about fuel delivery line from tank to pump right? The system will have a separator at the tank, a siphon break then to the pump, then up to the carb. Your suggesting rubber is ok to use end to end?
