Throttle lever sticking

I was out this past weekend and on the way back in, I could not get the boat into reverse. The handle was not able to be pushed back. Forward was working.

Earlier that day forward gave me a little problem too.

I was thinking of replacing the throttle lever. Is there something else I should check?

If I replace the lever, how do I oder a new one?

It is a 1998 Larson Flyer 176 with a 3.0 L Volvo Penta I/O.

Thanks,
Erick

Re: Throttle lever sticking

I would think a cable would be the problem more than the control itself.
Disconnect the cables from the control box and see if it works then.

Re: Throttle lever sticking

Would you still say this if forward is smooth and does not bind (in most cases)? It feels like the lever is sticking and not releasing when the safety is pulled up.
