Mercruiser Confusion

Hi...

I'm thinking about purchasing a 1997 Doral 300SC with Mercruiser "4.3Liter" engines with Alpha One outdrives OR a 1996 Larson Cabrio 280 with Mercruiser "4.3LX GEN+" engines and Alpha One sterndrives. The Doral has 400 hrs. on the clock while the Larson, 170 hrs.

Does anyone have any advice as to which is the better choice (other than personal preference) and what's the difference between these two engines? The dealer (same dealer has both boats) has no clue what the engine differences are, if any??

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Mercruiser Confusion

Others will know for sure but I think that the LX is 4 barr. carb and the 4.3 L is a 2 barr. carb.

Re: Mercruiser Confusion

Thanks Haut Medoc. I think the 4.3LX GEN+ engines DO have single piece manifolds.
