I have a 1998 Mariner 60elpto.
It starts up fine (never had any problems starting it).
But after running it at 4 to 5k rpms for a mile or so , it bogs out...but does not die ,it just runs at an idle speed while at full throttle and the engine is bogging. So then i will raise the motor up and idle it for a while and then it kicks back in and does the same thing in about a half mile or so.If i let it sit for about an hour so while fishing with the motor raised up out of the water , it will run again fine for a mile so then does it again.I have tried changing the gas line , spark plugs , drained fuel tank and put new fuel in , i even put a new gas vent on it.I checked to see if it has a fuel filter on it and it does not , i believe this motor has a manual fuel pump and is a 3 cyl .Also it did not do this in spring when water tempatures were in the mid 70's and air temp was cooler ...but only started doing it once water tempatures have reached 85 to 90 degrees in the gulf and air tempatures are much wamer.
I have also messed with the prime bulb ...it stays hard like it should be, tried pumping it , it doesnt make a difference. The only thing that seems to make a difference is letting it sit to cool down i guess.
Does anyone have any idea of what the problem could be ?
Does anyone know of any known problems like this with this model motor?
