Went to my local Napa dealer today to look for OMC parts for the first time and they said they do not carry any J/E parts in Canada that they're in the US only... sigh...

When I went to my local OMC dealer yesterday looking for a 305324 powerhead gasket for my QD19 they said they haven't made them in years? Huh? Guess I'll have to find a Sierra part somewhere. No idea where now...

Ordering parts cross border really sucks. They can charge brokerage fees, extra taxes and duty etc, not good. I'd rather drive down and get them.

That should be a currently available part from a dealer. Does you guy have a problem?

My guy said it was not made anymore. I thought it would be available also.

Re: NAPA Canada

eventhough it's not made anymore, you might try phoning around to long time OMC dealers and see if they happen to have one in stock... there is one of our dealerships that seems to have a bigger parts inventory than the other dealers around... They have filing cabinets of gaskets etc... In fact if I go to one of the other dealers, they often tell me they don't have it but can get it for me tomorrow. I think what that usually means is that the bigger service dept has it in stock, and they'll do a dealer-to-dealer purchase and then re-sell to me. I've been at the parts counter of the better place when other dealers have called looking for parts.

So, a few phone calls is probably worth the effort. By the way, don't forget to pick up a few spare drive pins while you're there... (unless you've got some already)

There's only 2 OMC dealers in my city. The one I normally go to said they dont make em anymore. I called the other place and they said they'd let me know.

I called my local OMC dealer... they have it in stock and it is $2.70. They said they would drop it in the mail to you if you want. Just call them and pay for it.

I've sent you a private message with their info. Might take a couple days to get, but at least you'd have it next week.

Strange that NAPA told you that. I'm in Edmonton, Alberta and they have no problem getting marine parts here. In fact, they even publish a catalog listing all the marine parts they have available. Ask your NAPA dealer to see the marine catalog.

I've had the exact same experience as Samo ott with NAPA in Ontario.

It appears that that part is only available as NOS. Normally I just cut a new one, but if you can get the proper gasket for $3 I'd take it.

It is frustrating to buy stuff across the border. Often you get dinged an extra $20 for customs fees. Free trade my @ss.

BF, thanks for the PM, I will call Avo and order those and other gaskets... Might as well get em all at once!
