I have a 1972 100hp Evinrude w/ hydro-electric lower unit. filled up the L/U with type C fluid ran it on muffs had fluid come out around prop shaft. Can this be fixed from the prop side or do I have to break the L/U down and change internally thanks

If you haven't got one you need to get a manual to do that. You do not want to cut the wires going to the shift solenoids.

Don't take it for granted the L/U is ready to go. The engine may have crashed because of a shot water pump. Check everything out before you install.
