I have a 2003 town and country mini van. Can I tow a alum. boat in the 16 ft range...(ie. basstracker) And if I can tow it, will there be an issue at the boat ramp pulling the boat out of the water, since it's front wheel drive? Can anyone help? I think this boat weighs less than 1000lbs. THANKS

You'll be fine at that load. Getting up a concrete ramp should also not be a problem. Getting out of a sandy, unimproved ramp may result some minor wheel spin but you should still get out ok.

Yup, you'll be fine with that boat behind that vehicle.

Father in law has one, and there have been as many as five or six in my extended family at one time or another. My brother has owned about five of them himself over the years. Doesn't put many miles on them (60 - 70K) before trading again.

silvertip, the reason I asked was because I dont know if I need to get a typeIII hitch or will a type II be ok to pull that boat? Thanks again

Either hitch will work with that boat. However, I'd spring for the heavier hitch. You'll just feel more confident, and the larger receiver means you'll never have to worry about it.

But the Class II will haul your light boat with no problem, and will cost you less.
