150 1991 Black Max; running hot

Hello Gentleman,

What is the proper operating temp for this motor?
Mine runs hot.

Impeller has been changed.
Peehole water is a slow stream, not fast.
At all speeds it is a slow stream to trickle.

Besides the impeller what could slow down the water flow.
Nothing visual blocking.
How can a I troulbe shoot this?

Check the hose that is routed to the tell-tale outlet. Bugs love to crawl up there and clog it.

also pull poppet cover and check for debris, usually get some grass or stuff in the spring holes, good luck ron

Replaced the t-stats lately?

Also the thermostats are set for 143 deg. Also when the Impellar was changed, did you inspect the pump housing for wear?
