location of oil filter on Sea Ray

I find instructions in the manual how to empty old oil but cannot find the location of the oil filter. I have looked in the engine compartment but can only see the fuel filter (the engine is a 4.3 Mercruiser). Would someone be able to tell me where the oil filter is and how to access it. Thanks. New Owner.

What year and model 4.3 Mercruser? EFI, carbed, old new??? They have been in a number of places.

Sould be on the port side under the engine, towards the rear..

Probably going on the assumption, that sritter would have been able to find a remote mounted filter.

But then again, you know what they say about assumptions

2 filters on a 4 cyl, and you can't find it?
sorry, you ought to deal with v8's in a confined space, where esp and tactile feeling is your best tool.

Ok, nobody tell Coors that a 4.3 is a V6, not a 4 cylinder.

Yea, when you can't find an oil filter, a Service manual is a MUST HAVE item.

Just to throw another "monkey in the wrench" - it will be be on the starboard side... not the port side.

I've never seen an oil filter on a 4.3 on the Starboard side.
