I made a mistake by not keeping my pushrods and rockers separated for each cylinder....4.3 OMC '88

What are the ramifications? Anything I can do to remedy the problem?

Thanks,
John

Really fast wear, as they were mated; new pushrods; cheapest.

Put it together and run it. Try to keep it below 9,000 rpm as much as possible.

So new pushrods would solve the problem completely? What about the rockers? Know a source for the pushrods?

Thanks!

Use your old ones. Do you for one minute think that all these remaned engines keep them matched??? You don't have a race engine.

Re: Pushrods/Rockers

Thanks guys....they all look pretty good so i don't think it will be a big deal....engine actually turned out to be in really good visual shape after I tore it down...affected cylinder(head gasket) had a little discoloration but no pitting or anything and piston looked fine....also same cylinder held oil just like the others which had great compression.....

Should I mess with the lifters at all or just clean and put back together?

Thanks

Lifters are a different story. They need to go back in their original location. If you didn't keep them sorted as to where they go you may be looking at a short cam and lifter life. The only good solution is a new cam and lifters.
