I just wanted some of you more experienced boaters to tell if all this seems to be about where things should be for this set up. I have a LS 175 Hydrasport with a 150 intruder it has a 21 pitch raker prop. I've kinda gotten used to the boat now and to wanted see where top end is at. Last week I had it out at the lake and with me (240 lbs) and another guy (200 lbs) and 3/4 tank of gas and gear it would run on the gps at 62-63 at 5200 to 5300 rpm's. Everything is stock and there is no jack plate and the center line of the bottom end bullet of the gear case is 6 3/8" below the very bottom of the boat. It starts to start to chine a little at the very top of the trim so I just touched it back down to get it to stop. The boat has a great hole shot and I'm not looking to set a new speed record, just want it to run good and last a long time. Any help or comments or questions would be great.

while I was going 62-63 mph there was two boats that blew by me running in the 70's I just can't figure out how to get that lure to stay in the water at that speed.

My opinion. Sounds normal to me. What I heard is you have a good hole shot. That is good. And the chine at the higher speeds and you just notch it down and it stops is normal. I have the same. Both you guys...you're both good and beefy so I think your boat is doing wonderful.

It isn't so much where the "bullet" is in relation to the keel as it is where the antiventilatin plate is in relation to the keel. That needs to be a couple inches about the keel to start and work from there. Just keep an eye on water pressure. If you don't have a water pressure gauge, add one if you begin to mess with engine mounting height.
