Hydrolic leaking into the bilge,I followed
line from the resevoir with my hand under the drive shaft, but cannot reach
the end.Do I need to take the foot off to reach the end where
the line is leaking?
I'm trying to help a friend, this is my first experience with an inboard.
Any help would be appreciated.

Or,,,,,,,, does that hose go from the gear lube reservoir? The one Bondo is refering to is for the trim/tilt.

Like I said on your other post, no need to start a new thread, the answer here is the thing to do.

The hose could be cracked, the quick disconnect on the inside could have come loose, or broken (it's plastic) hard to say exactly. May even be the reservoir was overfilled. Clean it all up and look, see, feel, where the leak is coming from. That's what us marine techs have to do.

Don,I will try again to find the leak,I have been in the boat for sev hours
trying to find the source.I filled the resevoir and the oil leaked out while the motor wasn't running. This took about five minutes.I cannot reach the end of the hose under the drive shaft. All of the oil ends up in the bottom of the bilge.
