Hi everyone, 07 E-Tec 115hp with about 50 hours of run time on it. Mostley salt water use. I am thinking it is time to change the fuel/water seperation filter but never done it. Dealer wants to charge me $10.00 for filter and $85.00 for labor. Anyone have step by step instructions for me to be able to do it myself? I am thinking it is a sc rew off then screw on application while prefilling the new filter, then squeezing the primor ball till firm. Directions is what I am needing... Thanks everyone :)

If you are talking about the screw in type ( like a oil filter) very simple fill the filter with gas that has oil in it and put some oil on the gasket of the the filter and screw it on, save your money for gas!

You don't need to mix any oil in the gas, just fill it almost to the top with gas and put it on. On my Ficht it was right behind the intake plenum, just take the plenum off, there may be some sensors you have to un-hook, so watch for them, and unscrew the old one, watch out because some fuel will come out, so lay down a towel. Once it's off, just screw the new, filled one in. Put the plenum back on, connect any sensors and your done, you shouldn't have a primer, since there is nothing to prime, as the engine is injected.

I would just turn the key on for about 5 seconds, then off and then on again for 5 seconds. Do that 3 or 4 times so the fuel pump can prime the system and then start it. Then you should be good.

Oh, just make sure the old gasket comes off with the old filter, or else you will have a leak.
